VARA, which was enacted in the 90s, protects the moral rights of visual artists by protecting the works of art of these artists from getting destroyed by different entities.[15] The use of VARA makes the situation here in Tennessee different than in Georgia, because VARA is only applicable for works made after 1991.[16] Since the carving in Georgia was finished in the 1970s it is less likely to apply.
