This seems like rather a big deal: not only did the CIA admit the it has foreign prisons, but that there is a Presidential Order re: Foreign Detention Facilities which involves,outlining interrogation methods that may be used against detainees, and a Justice Department legal analysis specifying interrogation methods that the CIA may use against top Al-Qaeda members.This will get interesting when Congress decides to resume its oversight duties. Two Plantation men accused of fatally beating a homeless man with a baseball bat and injuring two others were found guilty this morning of second-degree murder.Thomas Daugherty, 19, and Brian Hooks, 21, were also convicted of two counts of attempted second-degree murder in the Jan. 12, 2006, attacks on homeless men in Fort Lauderdale.The men face possible life prison terms when they're sentenced Oct. 22-23.Read the South Florida Sun-Sentinel report here. TDCJ's statewide lockdown searching for cell phones has met with some success, but now that it's mostly over and new procedures are in place, they're still finding contraband, most recently again on death row, the Houston Chronicle reports, where "Prison staff conducting a shakedown of the row Friday found a cell phone secreted in the rectum of convicted murderer Henry Skinner at the Polunsky Unit in Livingston" using the X-ray machine in the infirmary.
