I suspect that: 1) businesses will increase the involvement of lawyers earlier in disputes/projects/deals to help businesses avoid the increasing costs associated with litigation/arbitration; 2) more cases will be resolved by alternative dispute resolution and fewer cases will actually be tried; and 3) more lawyers will “specialize” as federal, state, and local laws continue to become more complex.
