I am willing to take at face value Ford's denials that there was a deal in advance for a pardon, and am willing to do so despite Alexander Haig's discussion with Ford, and the two relevant pieces of paper he gave Ford a week or so before Nixon resigned (one of the papers was a blank pardon.)
