A group of radio broadcasters have asked the FCC to agree to waive some provisions of the current sponsorship identification rules of the FCC to permit stations that have sponsored music or sports programming to move some of the required sponsorship identification online (the request is available here). I won’t begin to analyse them, other than to say that there was a surprising amount of agreement amongst a number of normally strange group of bedfellows (including Music Canada, Access Copyright, major broadcasters and yours truly) that the recommendations might make proceedings even longer and more expensive at the Board.
