 While the SSDI program is providing some relief to workers adversely affected by changes in state workers’ compensation programs, many if not most workers affected by these changes will not qualify for SSDI benefits because SSDI benefits are only provided to workers with a significant work history (unlike workers’ compensation, where workers are eligible from the first day of employment).
