What we saw with the situation of Mahmoud Khalil was a targeting of someone who had participated in pro-Palestinian protest on the Columbia University campus and ICE picked him up and put him in detention and was treating him very much worse than they might treat a student visa holder or someone with a lesser form of protection, when he was in fact a lawful permanent resident with a citizen wife who is eight months pregnant.
