After briefly outlining the evolution of peacekeeping, this chapter explores the compatibility of robust mandates with jus post bellum principles and the pros and cons of robust mandates to reach a just and stable post-conflict arrangement, using the missions currently operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in Mali, and in South Sudan as case studies.
