After considering the cases of Donald v Ntuli ([2010] EWCA Civ 1276), and JIH v News Group Newspapers Ltd ([2011] EWCA Civ 42), the judge held that the purpose of the order which had been made was the protection on the one hand of the ability of the press to report the proceedings, and on the other, of the article 8 rights of the claimant against the risk in particular of “jigsaw identification” if he or she is anonymised.
