So while doing some research on the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 that a growing number of people seem to be citing as the spark that started the current crisis of confidence on Wall Street, I was amazed to see the number of times that this 9-year old piece of legislation has been edited in recent days: a whopping 1114 times since Monday, with more than half of those changes (9) coming today.
