from the diaries of the tennessee dude... delaware's last execution took place november 4th of 2005...it has been reported that the death of brian steckel was unseemly - the mix of toxic drugs didn't work as planned...at one point steckel looked to one of his executioners to say, "I didn't think it would take this long," and when the lethal drugs finally took hold, steckel did not... from the diaries of the tennessee dude... according to tudor and stuart on the discovery channel it's one of the top five worst jobs ever...possibly at it's origins wearing a hood or mask didn't fool anyone - the executioner was a well-known and despised man...he had to deal with rioting crowds, as well as the blood and gore involved with beheadings - and it was even his job to parboil...
