I finished Tim Wu's The Master Switch Thursday night, and there's a sentence near the end of the book that has been bugging me since: "Certainly at the time [Google began operations in 1996], the legality of what was done wasn't entirely clear; and truth to tell, if a copyright lawyer had been among Google's founders, it's doubtful the thing would have gotten off the ground.
