If I were the Tories, I wouldn’t agree to any electoral reforms that doesn’t also address the West Lothian question, the overrepresentation of the Celtic fringe at Westminster (although I guess this is more a Welsh than Scottish issue these days), and the time lag in redrawing boundaries that consistently results in Labour-leaning constituencies being smaller than Tory-leaning ones.For a very long time, it has been the case that it is far easier for Labour to secure a majority… [read post]
