In a meeting with a Parliamentary photography group and journalists, David Hanson MP said the Sections 44 and 58A of the 2000 Terrorist Act should not be ‘used to stop ordinary people taking photos or to curtail legitimate journalistic activity’. [read post]

Andrew Dismore, a Labour MP, has launched a Private Members' Bill, the Employers' Liability Insurance Bureau Bill 2008-09, seeking to introduce an employers' liability insurance bureau which will pay out to claimants should the employer not have insurance or, more likely, that the insurance policy cannot be traced.The bill received its first reading on 26 January 2009 and its second reading, although due on 13 March 2009, has been postponed until 16 October 2009.
