So, Simons -- the 1.7 billion dollar man, no less, one of Wall Street's most successful investors -- was worried about Madoff (but as far as one knows, did not notify the SEC), the SEC got hold of emails from fund employees expressing concern, with one email saying that the fund had "totally independent evidence" that something wasn't kosher, and the SEC did nothing.
