Both the Canada Elections Act (S.C. 2000, c. 9), section 322, and the Alberta Election Act (E.1, RSA 2000), section 135.5 state clearly that no landlord may prohibit a tenant from displaying election advertising posters on the premises nor may any condominium corporation prohibit any owner or tenant from displaying such posters. Well, one of those exceptions is reg.3(1)(d), Service Charges (Consultation Requirements) (England) Regulations 2003, “[a]n agreement is not a qualifying long term agreement… if(i) when the agreement is entered into, there are no tenants of the building or other premises to which the agreement relates; and(ii) the agreement is for a term not exceeding five years.
