In the coming years, remote sensing technology may provide new pathways for regulating methane emissions from agriculture, coal, and waste sectors, both by providing observational capabilities for more diffuse emissions sources across larger areas and by tracking methane emissions at facilities designed to collect and channelize these emissions, such as digesters or coal mine gas collection systems.
