It should be noted that following ratification of the CRPD, a number of countries are undergoing a process of Constitutional reform, and the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (the treaty monitoring body for the Convention) has made explicit the need to involve persons with disabilities and their representative organizations in the drafting of any new Constitutions.
