I'm just saying that the judgments required here seem irreducibly contextual and situational---a point Ann Bartow eloquently pursues in her characterization of "generativity versus tetheredness" as a false binary.Jaron Lanier's cri de coeur has a kernel of truth re Web 2.0: "the aggregator (like Google, for instance) gets rich, while the actual producers of content get poor.
