Cello lust and envy.There is, by the way, a great little book - a lovely belles-lettres essay - The Countess of Stanlein Restored, by Nicholas Delbanco, describing the restoration of a Strad cello by a modern luthier.I have not been playing my cello very much at all these days - I've been on the road so much, it's been difficult. I am, after all, "Belle Lettre," and if you knew a bit of literary history (or just looked at the sidebar, "Defining Belles Lettres") you'd know that "belles lettres" means "literary works valued for their aesthetic qualities rather than their information or instruction. [read post]
