  Professor Roberts continued his multidimensional approach to political economy and law in his second monograph, Two Worlds of Cotton:  Colonialism and the Regional Economy in the French Soudan, 1800-1946 (1996).Slavery was the focus of Professor Robertson’s first co-edited volume, The End of Slavery in Africa (1988), a collective volume that focused how colonization changed the nature of master-slave relations.
