However,  my colleague here on humanrights.ie, Dr Eoin Daly, put it best when saying recently that Article 6 “certainly does not empower the courts to ensure the Irish nation retains a bracing and virile control over its own destiny, as the aesthetic and rhetoric of the document might ostensibly suggest”.
