However, they've now sued the blog for defamation, and are alleging its owner was trying to pass himself off as me: The hospital contends the blogger's alias and "assumed perona" of Frank Pasquale is apparently intended to mislead readers of the blog to think the blogger is Frank Pasquale, associate professor of law at Seton Hall Law School. Frank Pasquale has a very interesting post on Concurring Opinions on James Boyd White's When Words Lose Their Meaning.An excerpt:White's solution to such a dilemma is to call for the use of language that is "literary--merging fact, value, and reason, fusing the particular and the general, uniting thought and emotion, logic and image--rather than theoretical or conceptual" (229). So does Frank Pasquale , who applauds the Norwegian antitrust attack on Apple and suggests that Apple adopt a “true interoperability” approach which “would likely lead to a boom in the sale of both digital music players and music.” Everybody seems to have some advice for how Apple’s business model, which is fine, and there are certainly a ton of interesting economic issues about interoperability, standards, and competition to discuss here.
