Robert Wilonsky at the Dallas Observer reports that the Texas Department of Criminal Justice has renewed the contract with Corrrections Corporation of America to operate the Dawson State Jail in Dallas for the next seven years.I'd considered Dawson a good candidate for potential closure because it's located in an area where the city has proposed a major redevelopment project and the local chamber of commerce types wanted it gone.
