Dan Sullivan of the Tampa Bay Times reports that 53-year-old Oscar Ray Bolin Jr. was given three death sentences, the first in 1991, for the brutal murders of two young women and one teenage girl in 1986, but they were all overturned by 1995 when the state high court ruled that jurors should not have heard damning testimony from Bolin's ex-wife (deceased after the third trial) because he never waived his spousal privilege.
