A quick search on Westlaw shows that Hohfeld’s original 1913 paper and his follow-up 1917 paper together have been cited over a thousand times in the case law and commentary.17 For a great explanation of Hohfeld’s system of jural relations, I recommend this primer from the Chicago-Kent College of Law.
