On April 1, 2009 the Georgia Division of Health Planning, Data Resources and Analysis Section released a Beds Need Analysis  showing that by 2014 Georgia residents in the southeast and southwest regions of the State could face long-term acute care hospital (”LTACH”) bed shortages, unless new LTACHs are built or existing LTACHs are expanded.
