Gotlieb, besides editing Cairo, had edited all of Toni Morrison's books, and well over a hundred other best sellers including Catch-22, which Gotlieb explains in the movie was originally titled Catch-18 until a problem arose with that title and Gotlieb slept on the matter and awoke thinking 22 was a funnier number.
