On 17 October, MPs debated the e-petition signed by over 140,000 people calling for full disclosure of documents relating to the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, in which 96 Liverpool fans died.The petition was prompted by the Cabinet Office's decision to appeal a ruling by the Information Commissioner ordering information relating to the disaster to be disclosed to the BBC.
