The recent case of Milton v Milton [2008] EWCA Civ 926 gives useful guidance upon the issue of how long should be allowed for payment of a lump sum.The Facts: On the 6th December 2007 District Judge Brasse made a clean break order requiring Mrs Milton to pay Mr Milton a lump sum of £60,000 within 36 months.
