These callers probably won’t abide by the rules of the FDCPA so if you are being subjected to abusive debt collection behavior such as calling before 8 am or after 9 pm, this is a red flag and you should seek help. [read post]

For instance, the FDCPA states very clearly that if a debt collector communicates with someone other than you about your debts (like a friend or family member), the only acceptable reason for doing so would be to confirm the correct location information (i.e. address or phone number) of the person who owns the debt (you).
