That's not to say there should be no regulation in this area, but it's mostly up to us to build a better internet, either by (1) creating, if you know how, apps and websites that avoid the bad practices in common use today, or (2) as a consumer, by staying away from the bad places (as hard as that can be sometimes, especially when so many other people are there!).
