On June 16, 2011, Governor Abercrombie signed 25 bills into law, including SB 1076 (otherwise known as the “sick leave bill“) which prohibits employers who have (a) 100 or more employees and (b) a collective bargaining agreement, from barring or discharging from employment, withholding pay, or demoting an employee who uses accrued and available sick leave.
