As a practical matter, that means that if an employer miscalculates or otherwise fails to pay even a single day of vacation that is owed in the final paycheck, they are liable for up to six weeks of regular pay to that employee – one day’s pay for every day the employee waits to receive the proper final pay, for thirty days of pay (which is why it is six weeks of pay rather than one month).
