The process for obtaining either is different (one is based on state law and the other on federal law and guidelines) and qualifying for one does not necessarily mean that one will qualify for the other; however, it is possible.For example one could be deemed permanently disabled under Nevada workers' compensation and be deemed disabled under social security resulting in two different disability entitlements.
