After a fourteen month absence since the last one in February 2011, the "cattle call" process resumed in Marshall last Friday with 35 patent cases appearing to note whether they consented to trial before the magistrate judge and to receive their Markman and trial settings, a process begun several years ago by Judge Ward and which Judge Davis continues to use in Tyler.
