 I think that assumption is premature, and not only because the practical effect of an affirmance by an equally divided Court would be to deny cost-free contraceptive coverage to women who work for objecting religious nonprofit employers in Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and the Dakotas, but to guarantee such coverage to beneficiaries of health insurance plans elsewhere in the nation.
