 Oceana sued NOAA for failing to designated critical habitat for endangered leatherback sea turtles, seeking more protection for a broad swath of ocean feeding areas and migration routes, and ensuring additional scrutiny of harm to turtles from offshore wind and wave energy, coastal power plants, or pollution from agricultural runoff.  An AP story appearing in the MercuryNews.com notes that Oceana, the Center for Biological Diversity and the Sea Turtle Restoration Project filed a complaint in San Francisco asking that populations of loggerheads in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans be upgraded from threatened to endangered.
