Let's look back over the last half-century: we started with more than enough jobs for everybody in the United States, and they were good jobs that paid well, because they were in industry or agriculture or other areas that actually produced a product that people needed to buy, and workers in our auto plants spent their money buying clothes and food and televisions produced in the United States, and everybody was happy.
