  Silverstein led with flare (although he was hardly jumping about the way Dudamel did, he elicited vigorous playing when indicated from his charges), and also achieved the gentleness and relaxed lyricism that seemed slightly beyond Dudamel at this stage in his career - although Dudamel's program was not exactly picked to emphasize those qualities in any event.
